Trying to keep track of who’s available for selection at the moment is not the easiest. From what I can make out this is how the situation stands for the following players:

Henderson – Has flown to America for treatment on his foot. Likely to be out for another 2-3 games at least.

Lallana – Has also flown to America for treatment on his thigh. It’s been said he could be out for upto 5 more games although treatment may reduce that figure.

Mané – We know he’ll miss at least 1 game with a knee injury although there’s been numerous reports the situation is worse than initially thought. That number could rise.

Can – He was kicked around Anfield by Everton and as a result he didn’t train on Monday. Hopefully that was a precautionary measure rather than an injury.

Sturridge – Actually did full training with the squad on Monday. This doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be available this week but if Mané is out for longer than we thought his availability in the near future could be a bonus.

For once our defensive setup looks complete, the only doubt being Lovren after his treatment by Everton although he appears to be fine. If Can was to be injured we could still function by rejigging Milner or Alexander-Arnold but we’re starting to run out of first-team options in midfield. With Origi looking sharper and Sturridge possibly near a return we might just cope in attack should Mané be out for a period. What is for certain, though, is that we really can’t afford many more injuries in attack and midfield.

Injuries have crippled us this season, never known a season with so many injuries but isn’t it testament to the players that even with all these injuries and mane missing the whole of january and the start of feb that we find ourselves sitting pretty in 3rd place right now. I think we should forget about hendo and lallana, they weren’t sent to the states for a jolly up, their injuries will keep them out for a while, we may not see them on the pitch again til may so klopp needs to forget about those two for now and mane as well, no point crying over spilt milk as they say. With Origi looking sharp against everton and arnold too we should be ok as in we can still field a strong enough team to be beating the likes of bournemouth, stoke, westham and the likes, not to say we will of course but at least we can still compete and we’ll be favourites going into these games. Lets not forget that coutinho and firmino are also looking back to their best and lucas was excellent against the toffees as well, all in all, i think we’ll be ok… Read more »

For a change all our defenders seem to be fit but any more injuries in midfield or attack would be a bit of a disaster. I was concerned to see the team the U23’s put out last night against Norwich with so many of their regulars held back for the Bournemouth game. Made me wonder if the are other players carrying injuries we don’t know about.
