If no one else is going to post this one then here goes. An end of season match between 8th and 9th teams isn’t usually the greatest of prospects but this is Liverpool v Chelsea and there is always something at stake when we meet them.  I would expect our team to be pretty much the one that will start against Sevilla, injuries permitting.  Much as it would be nice to wrap the players in cotton wool I think they need a game in order to be at top level next week.  All 11 can have a rest against West Brom.  So my team would be the one that started against Villareal last Thursday.

What a shame we will not have the pleasure of sending John Terry off with our best wishes as he comes to the end of his Chelsea career, though it is entirely appropriate that he ends it suspended.  Chelsea have played their youngsters in a couple of recent games but against Spurs and Sunderland they brought back their experienced players and I would expect the same for tonight.

I will miss this one but I am expecting to log on tomorrow and find that we have won the game.  I will be even happier if I read that we have picked up no more injuries.

cheers for posting this mate. The injuries part is my big worry too.

Had a look at league last night, if by chance Bournemouth get an unlikely win at old trafford at the weekend, and we win our last 2 games we could finish above united in 5th.

Not likely but it’s good to know it’s possible, would be a nice way to finish the league anyhow.

No reason why we shouldn’t play our best 11, like you say we can rest them for a full week in prep for the final and play the fringe players against west brom, perfect.
Would be very nice to do the double over this hated club and i expect us to win tonight 😎 😎

Delighted with the team klopp has started with, we’ll definitely see the fringe players against west brom on sunday which gives them another chance to stake a claim for a seat on the bench in our final next wednesday.

Strong team out tonight and looks like a dress rehearsal for the big one next week and the game on Sunday isn’t important to me but a great opportunity for the fringe and youngsters to cap off the PL season.

Yes definatley a dress rehearsal. Scary on the injury front. Was just thinking who we’d miss the most and I’d have to say Lovren. How times change hey. Moreno seems a bit more disciplined tonight.

Let’s injury free tonight and yes its scary with thoughts like this.

Hazard walked through out team and scored… jeese

why are they toying around in the danger areas… just clear the ball , poor shots on target from us … no confidence.. at all in the end product … bring J Allen please ….

Hopefully Klopp lays into the team and gets them to start performing! poor first half from us. Only 1 goal to overcome. Hopefully a solid performance in the 2nd half.

The final set piece was wasted before the half whistle blew. We can beat this team and hope fully Klopp drills this into the players during his half-time speech.

Off topic:
Norwich 3-1 Watford
Sunderland 2-0 Everton

Appears both Newcastle and Norwich will be joining the Championship tonight…. and the end of Rafa’s short term as the Toon boss.

I know this match might not be that important, but god I hate Chelsea so much , that I cant stand loosing against them… common Reds let’s do this…

Kind of get the feeling some of our players are holding back a little in the tackles, fear of getting injured before the final perhaps.

Yeah, they definitely didn’t give a 100% but can we blame them really, they all want to play in that final.

Could be but at least let us try and make something out of set pieces..

Bit of a funny match. Our substitutions made all the difference. Felt a bit flat until then.

The substitutions made the difference towards to the end when we pressed and scored the equalizer in time added on. Some may say it was a fair match and other times I think it was frustrating but our fight chasing the game ended up in a draw that made amends.

This caps our home season in the PL and preparation for the final game which is at West Brom which doesn’t anything to me, however a win would be nice… The main focus is next Wednesday night and hopefully no injury concerns from tonight’s game and for the rest of the week in training.

15 wins, 12 draws and 4 losses at Anfield this season. Better than it looked like it was going to be at one stage. It was the draws that killed us really.

Draws have killed us in seasons past, many a season but i’m hoping that with the manager we have now, thankfully, a lot more of those draws will be turned into wins due to the winning mentality that klopp has and his way of instilling that into his players. I think we’ve seen some of that already in the last couple of months and with him getting in some of his players in this summer i’m very hopeful we’ll have a far stronger showing next season.

Benteke prevented is losing a third straight at Anfield to Chelsea. That makes it a huge goal to me.
Strange game feeling-wise to me. Wonder if it was like that at Anfield too.
Felt like the team went through the motions at 75-85%. Like they didn’t want to risk injury, which I think showed in all the shots we took outside the area rather than forcing the issue.
If there wasn’t next Wednesday waiting, one would say some of our players “we’re already on the beach”.
But I’d attribute this tepid display to Basel and Sevilla.
Not ecstatic with the result, but not depressed over it either. The wonders of an upcoming shot at Silverware and glory

Spot on mate, they were all protecting themself’s for next wednesday and who could blame them.
I’m actually happy with this result because i know they held back and still got a draw against a top quality team so that bodes well for the final as in we know there’s a gear or two left for them to move up, happy day’s 😎 😎

I thought Toure and Lovren gave it a good go most of the game (a lapse or two here and there and gave a goal), and Lallana looked the most determined to me fo those up front.
I’m curious what Klopp’s approach was and what he said to them in the buildup.
Guessing he’s not overly saddened by this result

No way is he disappointed, i suspect their all fully focused on our final, i doubt their even concerned about sunday’s game but of course we don’t want to get beat but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we were. A great chance for the fringe players on sunday to put themself’s in klopps thoughts as regards a seat on the bench in basel.

Let’s hope we get it right next week. Cause if we had played at our normal pace we would have took that game, but ha ho here we go, into the next one YNWA

Happy with the draw, Hazard is really playing to get into Real Madrid wearing Chelsea , I hope the plastics are aware of it by now and it’s so evident
