Sorry Warrior mate I couldnt wait for you to put this one up.

Man Utd v Liverpool
UEFA Europa League Last-16 2nd Leg
20:05
BT Sport Europe / BT Sport Europe HD / BT Sport Ultra HD also live on Setanta. I can’t wait for this one just to hear the scum fans squealing at the end. I would go with almost the same team, I know it won’t happen but I would swap Hendo for Joe Allen. We must go all out for a quick goal if we can get it quickly I would have to say game over. Even at old toilet I can’t see us conceding 4 goals. If I am not watching the game live I would like them to score 2 and then us to score in the 95th minute after the fourth official had put up 4 mins added. But I wouldn’t want to put our fans through that scenario. I will be watching live so hopefully we score early and then watch Lallana and Firmino showboat until the end. Lol

That wasn’t a bad result for us this afternoon with United and West Ham drawing 1-1 (West Ham should have won as there was a foul on their keeper for the United equaliser). So VanGaal won’t be sacked before our second leg match as we feared and United will have another match to think about besides the ones with us and then City over the week-end. Also they will both be required to play an extra game which is to our advantage as we are chasing them both in the league as well. I’m not sure Klopp will pick the same team for the second leg. There will be a temptation to play Milner possibly at the expense of Sturridge with Firmino playing the false number 9. Milner is suspended for the Southampton game which is another factor. I can see Origi coming on to stretch their defence but probably not until the hour or later. We have a big advantage but the game is by no means settled. If United get the first goal they will believe they can do it. The key for us is to score, as then they would need 4. It’s time to show that… Read more »

I’d prefer to bring Allen on from the bench. He has a very good habit of instantly changing the tactics of the team when he comes on and he seems to be our most influential substitute. He’s a very useful ace to have up the sleeve. I just don’t get the general attitude throughout the internet to Henderson’s performance in the first leg. I don’t think people quite understood the job that he seemed to have been given. It seemed clear to me that Henderson was told his main task was to break up play coming through the midfield, it was more of a destructive role than a creative role, for a change. To put into perspective how well he did this he was given a soft yellow card within a couple of minutes of the match, something you don’t want when you know you’re going to be making tackles, and yet he went on to win back possession thirteen times without getting sent off. That takes some doing in a derby match. I agree that in the circumstances to go on the back foot would be dangerous. The reason we did so well in the first leg was because… Read more »

I agree on Allen coming off the bench. He’s becoming a super sub.
I think Hendo is taking stick for missing that shot when he tried to place it in the top corner

Agree about Henderson. I thought he had his best game for a while in the first leg. He’s got a slightly different role under Klopp, winning back the ball and giving it to the creative players rather than trying to be a poor man’s Stevie G. My criticism of him this season has been his passing which needs to improve.

I also agree that Allen is best coming off the bench.

I wouldn’t want us to adopt a defensive game. Their defence is there for the taking – it’s just a matter of whether we can get past DeGea. Where would they be without him?

That away goal…I hope we score that away goal…

I agree that if they score one, they’ll have belief to get the second (if we haven’t scored).
The good news is that for them to get two, they’ll have to play more open than normal which helps us and plays into our hands.
One off a set piece is one thing, but two gives us an advantage.
Go after them with the press and have Hendo and Can keeping an eye on breaking up stuff

After watching the vermin yesterday & also on Thursday if we do not get through this tie I will quite frankly be stunned, they are very mediocre. I feel klopp should set up purely to frustrate them on Thursday, to shut the crowd up (that won’t be hard) & hopefully turn them & the more desperate they get we can exploit them. Id probably start with one up top pack the midfield but use it to our advantage as in, have the players in the midfield to hurt them when we have possession. Work as hard as last Thursday & treat it like its 0-0.

Don’t feel we should sit back, that would just invite the scum to go at us, I agree we should hassle them all night long, and when they make a mistake we need to punish them, their best player unfortunately is de gea who was there man of the match in the first leg. We need to score first then they will be well in the dodo, love to see us give um a tanking, but I don’t think it will be as easy in the second leg, take us to go through though

Still feel we win get to the next round.

My post earlier about packing the midfield wasn’t about sitting back more of frustrating them early on but also having the players to hurt them when we’r in possession. Let’s face it the onus is on them, they’re 2-0 down from the off & the pressure is & should be on them. We’ve seen it before in the away game at city when lallana & coutiniho pressed with firmino but also tucked in when when needed to stop the ball coming through the midfield, making a compact wall of red in the midfield. I know our back line has been ok recently but I still feel it needs protecting, especially in a game where the opposition have to press. I would love to win the game more than anything because we’d do the double over them equaling 2 a piece for the season but a bore 0-0 would suit me fine.

Fellaini received NO punishment for his elbow on Can at the end of the first leg.
Maybe they will be quick to give him a yellow for his ugly challenges in the second leg to make up for it

Koped49

Well he don’t play for us, if he did he would have had the book thrown at him

One rule for us another for the scum

One favorable rule for them, one being harsh for our South Americans (or as Fergis said “foreigners”) and one in the middle for everyone else

Bet Costa don’t get as much as suarez got either

What’s the media in UK saying about him? If he wore red they’d tack on him as Susrez 2.0

It’s funny that when ever it’s one of ours, they get hit hard for wearing our shirt, but the scum get off lightly

How happy do you think Suarez is that Gerrard convinced him that Arsenal wasn’t a big club after their £40m +£1, and another great year at LFC would get him to Barcelona? Tonight will just be another reminder

Koped49

Just hope we score first, and it’s a big up hill battle for them, then they would have to score four goals to beat us, that would leave them open to us scoring on the counter attack. I really hope we give them a bloody nose,

Herrera has just said this:

“We have the best fans in England and they will be very important.

“We should have played much better in the first game but we have another chance. We learned a lot from the game at Anfield and the second leg will be totally different. The pitch is bigger, the grass is better here.”

Better fans, better grass?

@RedUncle May be he has smoked some better grass… I will be missing the game as it is a late night game for us, I will wake up in the morning to see that we are through to the last eight…. unless Man U pulls a miracle…

HAMNUM8

Van seagul is a tool & long may it continue & as for Herrera’s comments they crack me up ‘Better grass’????? That will make us play worse then, won’t it??? God I’d love to tonk these fools. First 20min are vital. Klopp was cool as ever in his presser & that will filter through to the players & it also sounds like his treating the game exactly the same as always which is good to hear.

It’s been reported Herrera and Blind are out of the game. Perhaps the grass failed to reach their expectations…

HAMNUM8

See that, maybe Herrera’s chilling out on some even better grass 😎

I think i’m stating the obvious by saying the first goal tonight is vital, we get it and it’s game over, they get it and i feel it’s game on. Let’s not forget they’ll have 75.000 fans making a lot of noise and if they get that first goal a lot of noise they will make which help their team, having said that, i expect us to go through.

Contrary to earlier reports Blind is playing. Couldn’t stay away from the quality grass, obviously.

That was a funny half – most of the pressure coming from United then BOOM! We score. There’s no stopping genius, I suppose. Can United score three in the second half?

Can is getting better every game.
