It’s all been said about the manure game on sunday so i won’t go there, brilliant match thread by the way folks, some great comments in there so keep that up.

Exeters big day out on wednesday and a deserved one at that, they were excellent in the first leg but i fully expect their FA Cup run to come to an end here, i think. I think we’ll see nearly as many changes here as we did in the first leg with the likes of llori, caulker, smith and randall all getting starts and i’m really hoping ward gets a start in goal as i havent seen him in action as yet either in scotland or for us. Benteke needs the game time so he starts for me aswell, seen that ibe was a sub on sunday i reckon he will start along with allen too, my team for this game would look something like this,

ward

randall   toure    sakho   smith

allen

brannagan    steward

ibe          texieira

benteke

Something along these lines could be what klopp is thinking of and should be enough to get through. Exeter have nothing to lose and all the pressure is on us to get into the next round which is what i expect us to do, mind you, i was convinced we’d beat manure!!!!!!

Adding Ward to the first 11 is a good choice and I would put him there too myself. I would like to put Kolo instead of llori and take him off after half time only if we’re in a comfortable lead.. We need Kolo’s leadership for this one. Correct the pressure is on us because we’re the home side and Exeter half nothing to lose but earn a million quid.

Win this and the next round against the Hammers… I hope we will be drawn against Manure and beat their ar–s at old Toilet.

You will probably get your wish with Toure as Caulker is not elegible and the same with Ward. Not fussed who we play in this one as long as we win. I’m still depressed after Sundays poor result.

This fixture could prove key to how our season goes. The Klopp euphoria has finally died down, partly due to the results, but the scum result has truly knocked the winds out of our sails. Even our commander in chief seemed a bit dumb-founded. A good thing is this fixture comes quick and a convincing win can revive the team a bit but if we fail, then I’m afraid of what impact it’ll have on the remainder of the season.

This fixture has become very important in many ways , as the semi finals against Potters is coming…. team needs to gain confidence before going into the game…

I think we need more of our experienced players in the replay. Migs rather than Boggy and Lovren back if he is fit alongside Toure or Sakho. Allen, Benteke and Ibe must start as they will be fresh. Some of the youngsters will get a game and I’m looking forward to seeing Brad Smith and Conor Randall making their home debuts and hopefully Ojo as well at some stage. We also need a strong bench in case we encounter problems. Don’t forget the U21 Cup match v Leeds tonight if you have LFCTV. That might give a clue to which youngsters will play tomorrow.

We just need to gain the win, so a good mix of youth and experience will be required.

Looks like Jon Flanagan will be on the bench. If he comes on it will generate the biggest cheer of the night.

I tried posting during the match but I gave up because I was missing half the game. Sorry warrior( some great comments in there so keep that up).lol.

None of the young players who were in the team/squad at Exeter played in the U21 Cup game last night so maybe Klopp is telling the truth when he says tonight’s team will be very similar. Incidentally well done the U21’s for their 1-0 win over Leeds with what was almost a second Xl plus Caulker who gave a solid if unspectacular performance. I hope Mignolet was watching Ryan Fulton commanding his area.

Klopp did say that Benteke is part of his plans, may be we get to see some of it today…

Had no idea the replay was tonight. I see it`s live on our local Supersport channel at 10pm. Got something to look forward to now. My thanks to Warrior and his match threads. Please don’t disappoint me Redmen. Hope Ward plays, like to see what he’s got. Not too impressed with Migs as mentioned elsewhere earlier on here

Can’t wait to see the prodigal son return tonight after 18 months

I knew he was out for a long time but I didn’t realise it was that long.

Flano will start on the bench, it will be a matter of when the Klopp decides to bring him on and how many minutes they have in mind for him. Klopp says the team will be very similar to the one which played at Exeter.

I’m a bit worried not so much about the team but about the bench. We have no experience to call on if things go wrong. I have faith in the young lads but Enrique at centre back worries me and the game is no foregone conclusion.

1-0 up, Liverpool playing, but tough defending, lack of movement and skill in front of yard box.
hope we’ll flourish in 2nd half to get some 3-4 goals to our scoreline

Good first half we lead 1-0 even though could have been more but I am satisfied with the performance so far but an odd few mistakes.

Smith is having a great game tonight. The first half stats we have 13 shots to their zero but 5 on target.

The second half counts the most and some tweaking will help us to increase the score. The Kop roar will come on some time soon when Klopp introduces Flanno.

Half time – well done the young lads, all of them and Smith in particular. Again the old problem, we’re not clinical enough near goal with Benteke particularly culpable. At least he looks interested tonight but it’s not happening for him in front of goal. I can’t believe Exeter will be as cautious in the second half so maybe the game will open up a bit. If we are still looking for a second goal after 65 minutes I would bring on Sinclair but not sure who to take off – Texeira? A mention too for the much maligned Joe Allan who is putting in a good shift as well as scoring our goal.

cheers for Flanno

once again benteke 3 on 0 and no goal.
does this guy really want to impress?

Great performance by the youngsters. Shame about Benteke’s finishing. Lovely goal by Ojo. If he ever gets to sort out his feet he could be outstanding. Pleased for Texeira too. A nice goal and a very clever performance. Credit to the Academy for producing such a cultured bunch of players. The highlight for me was Flanno’s return. He wasn’t really tested but he put in a very solid performance.

I give up with Benteke the guy is useless, the young lads have showed him how it should be done. Ojo a great but simple finish, good ball from Benteke to Tex for the third and great finish by Tex. Benteke should have made it four at the end or at least square it for someone else. Great to see Flanno back and had a solid game, good going forward as well as defending.

Benteke is a strange case, he’s either unstoppable or totally off the boil. He didn’t play too badly today. Hopefully will lift his confidence.

Great result and with this team I could nearly put them out for the next game against Norwich but the experience is different in the PL. I was surprised Enrique wore the captain’s armband but he was the oldest player on the pitch… maturity counts.

Swansea made a bid (rumor) for Allen and we rejected it because he is important and I am glad to have Allen on our side… scored a nice goal though.

The positive side to this the future Legend (and maybe Captain) Flanno returned tonight and FSG may have to rebuild the main stand because the roar shook it’s foundations. Next stop is Norwich 12:45 pm game.

Brilliant to get flano on the pitch, and it was just like he had not been away. He had a solid Performance, some good football played by the young guns, good shop window for some of them, the likes of Tex as I think he might be moved on in the summer, ad we have a glut of number ten type players. Big Ben is a wired one done know weather it’s about confidence or if he just does not have that type of mind to be able to make the right decision, when he as more than one choice or oppstion. He as scored some great goals but they all seem to be achieved instinctively when he as no time to think.

That Ojo goal was nice… wonder when he will get to play next…
