Our first home game of the season is against the reigning champs.  They have had a shock result against Hull on opening day but so did we against Burnley.  The games against Spurs showed a marked improvement but the defensive frailties still exist within the team.  After the international break, it’s going to be tough to get going because of players travelling from all over.  Good news is that Mane is available but Can isnt.  Lucas and Karius are back in training, so maybe we may see the new keeper debut.  Leicester’s new forward is expected to make his debut and while they’re not expected to repeat their last season heroics, they are certainly a hard team to beat but I believe that we do have a chance and I would love to start the home form with a win.

My lineup would be:

                                                           Karius

Clyne                  Matip                                  Lovren             Milner

                                        Lucas              Hendo

                                                Lallana

             Mane                      Sturridge        Coutinho

I don’t think Kloppo will go this way and will probably start with Firmino.  Defensively we need to be strong so tactically we should play with 2 DMs and have only 1 fullback attack at a time. Whatever the lineups it should be an exciting game.

I think firmino will deffo start although i do like your team as well. Not sure about origi’s fitness but i’m all for him getting a run of games instead of or with sturridge, i’d drop lallana and put coutinho there so i’d have a front 3 of mane, sturridge and origi with coutinho in behind them, almost assured goals with that front 4.

I read a report that said although Karius is fit Mignolet will almost certainly start this game. If Leicester play like they did last season the two things we’ll be guarding against are their directness and their counter-attack. This is not the game to take one too many touches in, when Leicester win the ball they can turn it into an attack in your half surprisingly quickly. I wouldn’t have Moreno anywhere near this game, he’s an accident waiting to happen in these circumstances, and I doubt Klopp will either. After all the talk It’ll be interesting to see if Sturridge starts in the centre, the answer will say a lot about his relationship with Klopp.

I think going with 2 defensive midfielders would be a bit too negative. I would like to see Origi start as he caused Leicester lots of problems in the corresponding fixture last season until he picked up an injury. However if Klopp thinks Sturridge is looking the sharper of the two then he should play instead. Coutinho is only just back from South America so it may be better to keep him on the bench and play Firmino instead. He can then come on as a sub in the second half.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Coutinho on the bench to start with.

Thanks for starting the match post @db-99, I’m working loads right now and never got to it.

The most curious thing for me is the return of Karius. He may not play on Saturday but all the press & the interviews on the official site suggest he’s gonna be number 1 once fit.
