Well this is it lads and lassies they don’t come much bigger than this, this is why we all watch football. Ok it’s not the champions League but tell that to the fans inside the stadium. We really do have the tools to progress and the manager who can do it. We proved in Dortmund we can beat them. For us to come home from that game feeling we should have won, (by a couple of goals I might add)  shows just how far we have come under Mr Klopp. I think the team picks itself almost. I would leave Sturridge on the bench as I don’t think we can go gung-ho. We will need to play the same way we did in Dortmund, let them have the ball and catch them on the break. Same team as started against them in the first leg with Joe Allen replacing Hendo . Klopp does have some interesting choices though. I can’t see him starting with both Sturridge and Origi. So the team I expect to start will be

Migs

Cline Lovren Sakho Moreno

Can         Allen

Milner Coutinho Lallana

Origi

If we play like we can without any brain **** defending we can win this

Come on redmen YNWA

I agree with your team Spanish. If we need a goal in the second half Sturridge can play alongside Origi. They have done well together on the rare occasions they have both played, but to start with we can be more cautious. It’s Dortmund who have to find a goal.

First, I must congratulate the team on a wonderful display Sunday. I only saw half the game because of the late start of the Manure game and the decision of the network to go with the first half of the ManU. Spurs game, so I didn’t see the last half of either game. (Thanks a lot NBCSN) Anyway, while I think a cautious approach is not a bad idea, I would not be surprised to see Sturridge and Origi start Thursday. Think of the shake up of the Dortmund defense that would create!

Game will be on in 1 1/2 hrs. I can’t eat, stomach is churning, excitement is building…I can’t wait until game time! Been a heck of a long time since I last felt like this. Regardless of the outcome, thanks Jurgen Klopp, all the players, and you fellas also. Now THIS is how you are supposed to feel about a futbol game! NYWA.

Also there’s the potential to play Milner back in that spot alongside Can and have Firmino in the three.
Allen has earned a spot as a starter but is also become a super sub. So it wouldn’t be a slight to use him as such.
But I tend to agree with your lineup like this to control the midfield and use Firmino and Sturridge as subs to chase a goal if needed later

Don’t think it matters who we put out there now,( to some extent anyway ) we will have a great bench either way, so it looking good,

Koped49

Dortmund will probably play better as well, so it won’t be a walk in the park, but still think we will do it.

Firminho and Sturridge should get atleast 20 – 25 mins to play it’s hard to influence the game in 10 mins… Ojo looks so good, it all depends on the match situations I don’t know if Klopp would give him a chance… it will be one of the toughest games of the season if not the toughest… commons reds we can do this…. Ilkay Gundogan & Neven Subotic have been ruled out of Borussia Dortmund v #LFC on Thursday.
That should be encouraging news for our lads, making our passage to the next round that much easier!!! 🙂

Sorry it looked like a twitter thread for the first leg!

Our biggest game of the season so far by a long shot. We can’t afford to sit back and let them have the ball, they will score if we do that, we must attack from the off and try and get that first goal, deflate them a bit. They will be all out for that goal so the likes of lovren and sakho have to be on their game big time, i’ve a feeling migs might be busy so he needs to be sharp as well. Our supporters need to be heard as well, get behind the team even if they score first, loud and proud is the way to go, the 12th man and all that. We know we can beat them, should have comfortably in the first leg, it’s going to be a horrible, nervous night for us and please god we get through. “COME ON YOU REDS”

So favorites tag means little on Euro nights; even mighty Barca found themselves on the receiving end to finish their Euro campaign on an anticlimax. So it all boils down to sheer effort and luck on the night and may it be Liverpool’s night!!

Does anybody else feel like this is a huge European night? That it feels like silverware on the line at Wembley? That it’s the final day of the season and this determines the Champs?
Or is it just me and I’m wound up for this huge clash?
Only two English clubs still alive in Europe. Don’t tell me Europa League doesnt matter.

A poor pass like this one cause them to get a goal… and to me it was offside. Now we have to go out and win this one.

2-0 down…. this is not good

RedUncle

We’ve just got to calm down and make sure our passes connect. Our players look like they’re thinking too fast, everything’s too hurried and we can’t keep possession.

Such a huge build up and big hype before the game but it’s all over in 9 mins.. Football is a funny ol sport.. Immensely disappointed with the team today. Just highlights what the quality of the squad is and the job Klopp has on his hands..

lanoisseforp

That ends the first half… 2-0 down… first goal led to a misplaced pass… I can’t comment the second one because I missed it. The first 10 minutes were a disaster for us.

Origi was very unlucky not to put his chances into the back of the net and I don’t know how Lallana fluffed it when it was a clear shot at goal inside the last 10-12 minutes. 45 + plus minutes left to go and three 3 goals are needed to win the tie.

Sturridge will have to come on to play along side Origi… some of the players tonight are not having a great game and hopefully Klopp will give the lads a serious half-time speech or a rollicking…. or both.

If Southampton can do it against us when they came back from 2-0 down and scored three that won the game against us a few weeks back… I don’t see why we can’t do it too? Come on the Reds.

Not me for sure!!! We definitely saved face. Whatever the result, an incredible display of determination to comeback and draw the game. It will be unbelievable if we comeback from the here. The crowd and atmosphere is electric.

Such a bizarre game. I thought Sakho was poor positionally when defending but then he goes up the other end and scores, Moreno seemed to be playing as a winger most of the time (that recent goal had gone to his head) and Milner’s corners were shocking but he put in a couple of beautiful crosses. For every piece of play we seemed to do badly we did another that was fantastic. Good luck to anyone trying to review that game.

My word what an unbelievable result! I hope we go on from here an win the tournament. Dortmund were the favourites but it’s anyone’s trophy now

It’s nights like this that you just couldn’t imagine supporting another team.

A truly special game typical of Liverpool. Bring on the semi 😉

I’m not a religious man but when Klopp brought on someone who closely resembled Jesus a miracle then followed. Someone remind him of this when he’s handing out the contracts.

lanoisseforp

I think you are getting confused with him and Pirlo either way is was a miracle 😀

I love Pirlo but I don’t think he’s started doing miracles just yet.

Right the semi-final draw tomorrow at 11:30 am (GMT) we’re up against Sevilla, Shakt and Villarreal… Sevilla just won their penalty shoot out against Bilbao and they have great spot kickers… we need to update our penalty kicks in training just in case.

Koped49

Don’t really matter who now, no easy games just need to be focussed and consentrate in both legs, and everyone knows we never give up in a final

We’re back ladies! Everywhere I looked in the online futbol world, people were buzzing about the game as one of the two “greatest nights”, and Liverpool played in, and won, both! This is just the spark needed to reignite the Liverpool mystique. I am bowled over, flabbergasted and happy beyond belief. Wow what a game! YNWA!

Fans were fantastic tonight

It was a fantastic event if not exactly the greatest performance. Liverpool have been accused of being mentally weak in the past but to come back from 3-1 down shows we’ve made strides in that regard (especially when compared with the Southampton game). The goals from Coutinho and Origi were team goals with genuine quality while the goals from Sakho and Lovren were the result of determination as much as skill. These are all undeniably positive aspects to come from the game. However, we can’t disregard the fact that on three occasions Dortmund easily cut through us like a hot knife through butter with the positioning of Sakho and Moreno being particularly culpable for these goals. Yes, it was an outstanding achievement to score four goals from the position we were in but we’ll be pushing our luck if we have to repeat such a feat again in this tournament. As has been said so many times this season if we’re going to win silverware our defence has to be switched on from the start to the finish of games.

DB-99

I know everyone is citing Istanbul, but maybe Olympiakos a more accurate comparison? It doesn’t matter though, the fact that we got through after that first half has left me both stunned and delighted at the same time. Weird emotions to say the least.

It’ll go up there alongside those great matches and in years to come we can be proud to say we watched it. Football’s all about creating memories and that’s a great one happily saved in the bank. The hard work now starts with the team who have to somehow bring themselves down off that high and prepare themselves for the next match, it’s easy to get distracted.

It’s the morning after and i’m still in shock, i simply can’t believe we won that game, confession time, i left the pub 30 minutes into the game totally devastated and if there had been a bridge nearby i was off it. Oh me of little faith. We just beat one of the best teams in europe, dosen’t mean we’ll win it of course but how confident must our team be now, it must be flowing through them. It’s all starting to come together, the klopp effect if you like, the man is a football genius and we’re very lucky to have him as our manager. Whether we win the EL or not i believe we will challenge for the lge title next season, klopp will get top cl*** players in during the summer and we will kick *** next season, i’m convinced of it only because of the manager we have, thank you so very much jurgen klopp in advance of the special memories we are going to get over the next few seasons.

DB-99

I think players from other teams watching the game, the way we play and how Klopp is and especially how our players speak of him is going to be a huge draw for top class players to want to come and join the Klopp revolution!
