10th April 2016 and, ‘fresh’ from gaining a valuable away goal in the 1-1 EL draw at Borussia Dortmund, it was back to business, in the Premier League, with the visit of Mark Hughes’ Stoke City.
A regular name on the LFC fixture list this season, after the two-legged LC semi-final, where we just abouts managed to squeeze past them on penalties (again!!), Stoke had been hoping to build on their best ever PL season, where they managed to achieve their highest position, as well as their highest points tally, but indifferent form saw them rooted firmly in mid-table.
This time, though, they’d be without talismanic goalie Jack Butland, who was nursing a serious ankle injury which had, not only brought his PL season to an end, but also his hopes of going to Euro 2016.
One thing that the home leg of the LC proved, though (0-1, anyone?), was that anything could happen.
And did it!!

A 4-1 win to set us up nicely for the home leg against Dortmund!!!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be there for yet another European night, that would go down in Anfield folklore.
But, be sure to look out for the tours against the Toffees, the Geordies, and Watford.
Until then, as always, YNWA. Always. J4T96-GBNF.X
