I’ve waited for someone to come up with this but no one has.   Question:  What if Karis and Moreno had gotten hurt the first week in October instead of in preseason?  What would have been the effect on LFC’s season?  Sometimes I think that Klopp’s all too eager clear out of players he deemed not good enough for Liver[pool could be a case of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

He’s certain been ruthless with players he doesn’t fancy but bear in mind we can only have a squad of 25 players over 21 so he needs to make room for the players he’s bringing in.

I’m sympathetic to Klopp for the injuries to players especially with 3 CBs out at the same time. I don’t think it’s training because most happened in match scenarios. Karius and Matip’s injuries is particularly worrying because they’re new players and need a full pre-season with the team. I was hoping Karius would take Mignolet’s place as No.1 keeper. Although it doesn’t make sense to get more CBs because when everyone is fit how can you keep everyone happy and treat players fairly, especially with less games this season. We’re at least 5 players heavy in the squad but the only area I think needs addressing, as many on this forum have already stated, is LB.

Klopp’s got 39-yr old Manninger as cover for goalie which is not too comforting. Besides Moreno and Lucas Leiva are both injury prone. A 20M approach is being made for Bundesliga’s best leftback Jonas Hector but I doubt the deal will materialize just as with Goetze since we can’t even offer Europa Cup football. As for defensive mids., there are few on the market with even Barca having to make do with contract extensions for 32-yr old Macherano…

Lucas has suffered plenty of injuries but Moreno has been relatively injury free in the 2 years he has spent at Liverpool. His problem isn’t injuries but consistency and a tendency to do stupid things.
