Just seen the new fixture list and would you believe it we have been given a series of tough away matches to start the season yet again.  Our first 3 away games are at Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea and there is also a difficult home match with Leicester in the early weeks.  Mind you it wasn’t the big teams that caused us the most problems during last season and indeed we got 8 points from the corresponding four fixtures last season.  If we can come through September with a reasonable haul of points we should be well set for the rest of the season.  Our final match is Middlesbrough at home so let’s hope there is something to celebrate on that day, at the very least a top 4 finish.

It always seems tough to crawl into top 4 from 7th or 8th, even wary in the season. But that could be our reality with this beginning schedule.
But we head into October in 5th or better it will be a pretty good start and position us well to ouch onward and upward

What a dream it would be to be crowned “North London Champs” at the end of August with away victories at the Emirates and White Hart Lane

It is a tough start I agree,, on the positive note – if Klopp’s extreme pre-season does the job we could be in a great position after the 1st month or so.

In other new Liverpool have asked Burnley if we can play our 2nd game (1st home game) at Burnley in case the stadium work is not fully signed off, we had already asked for our first game to be an away one, so they give us Arsenal!

Ever wondered how the fixtures are decided? – This is quite interesting: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2016-17/jun/090616-how-premier-league-fixture-list-is-compiled.html.html

It from the PL site mind so it could be a bit sugar coated.

Most important to fix the back defence line especially left back before the start of the new season. The regularity with which LFC conceded goals last season ensured a yo-yo season with little to show in terms of progress. Another season of 40-50+ goals conceded will not see us qualify for Champs League especially when we don’t have any settled frontline.

I like Moreno! He has a passion for the club and with a little seasoning would be a great LB. He just has to learn to defend and cross (the two main jobs of a LB).

****. Other then not being able to do the two basic things he’s supposed to, he’s good at what he does.
