We all know we have no chance of getting top 4 now, so what would you be happy with at the end of the season. For me top 7 will do considering it’s not Klopps team we can’t really blame him. I am also hoping to see a big improvement on the attacking side, when all of our squad is up to match fitness. Winning the capital one cup and possibly the fa cup. I don’t think we have a hope in hells chance of winning the Europa although semi would be nice. Despite some people thinking our squad is dire I’m not expecting a massive influx of players. I would like to see a quality goalkeeper brought in, a cb,dm and a quality striker. If Studge is finished with us then another forward whether that is a wide man a striker or an attacking mid I don’t know. Alex Teixeira would be nice. What do you all think would be acceptable.

Our problem our squad is composed of midtable players. Huge money has been spent on them. I fear that if Klopp cannot resurrect us then we will become a permanent midtable team. The leaders of the club have simply not kept up with the times and now the stadium expansion, investment in youth and players is too late with City and Chelsea’s squad far exceeding ours. I’d be happy with a trophy this season. Capital One is our best chance. 11 points gap 14 games to go is too much for this team.

Honestly our top 4 hopes have been gone since at least the poor loss to Man U, if not the beginning of the year when we drew too many games in January.
We haven’t had consistency enough to consider ourselves top 4 contenders long before that. Any hope was a false dawn after the Chelsea/Man City/Soton drubbings and we haven’t shown much near that since then.
For me to be happy, I would like some silverware. And the League Cup would be satisfactory to me, considering most of the other teams that are our rivals won’t be getting even that.

I’ve always said that at the start of every season our main priority should be to get CL football, so, as a top4 finish is clearly gone for this season we should go all out in the EL, it’s a trophy and a back door into the CL, i know you don’t give us a hope of winning it but if we can get the likes of studge, coutinho and Origi up and running and if benteke can wake up and start scoring a few then who knows.

We really need to build a squad, where we have two class players for each position, it would be a hard job keeping them all happy within the team playing structure, but that is what is needed. This would then create the competition for places, name will come and go but the club will always be there. It was there before Shankly, it is still there after Shankly, and has he said no one is bigger than the club.and I believe Klopp is of the same mould as Shankly, and will turn us around, but it might take a little longer than one or two seasons, so buckle up and get ready for the ride, it could be interesting.

It may sound basic but the first thing I’d like to see us do is find some kind of understanding within our squad. When I think back to the great Liverpool defences, they were almost telepathic in their understanding of each other’s positioning. So often this season I’ve watched games where the back line haven’t quite been on the same wavelength and there’s been a hesitancy and nervousness about them. It’s been the same all over the pitch with players taking one touch too many and not finding each other with passes. You can have a squad full of players but if they haven’t got a really tight, shared understanding it means nothing. Why have Leicester blown eveyone away with a squad bought with pocket money? Because early on they realised the value of creating a squad that compensated for a lack of quality with a strong sense of structure and positional awareness. Basically, they know what they’re doing so well they’ve become slick. I’ve always been sceptical when we’ve brought in six, seven or more players each season, we’re never going to get a really tight squad with such high levels of player turnover. As for this season, a… Read more »

A Cup would be great but for me its most important to finish strongly in the League to give us confidence for the start of next season. Top four has been out of reach since the United game but it doesn’t mean we can cruise in the League and concentrate on the cups. We need to finish as high as possible and then build on that next season.

I agree with Uncle regarding Leicester. They don’t have the best players but they have a system that every player is comfortable with, they have had very few injuries and they have a striker in form. Playing twice a week since he arrived Klopp has had no time to work on a system, just recover and play again. The injuries haven’t helped either in this respect and I suspect the formations have been geared to the players available rather than the other way around. I can’t help feeling that if even one of our 5 strikers was regularly scoring, we be challenging for 4th place or even higher.

We still have a chance with EL, it is extremely tough , if Sturridge and Coutinho can stay fit till the end of the season, Europa is not mission impossible, Origi will play better in Europa than the Prem, so is the case with BigBen as well… never say never… Go Reds, because no point in reaching top 4 and going to Champions league, when you can’t make any difference in Europa…. if we win Europa , we attract lot of good players… besides anything it will be a big big confidence boost for the squad to win such a respectable silverware…

Mate I do agree with the numbers of defeat and lost points we LFC could finished on the 7th or 8th place (wish klopp could make it better) . For me the big issue was the team BR had bought for his team he wanted to put on, then came JK who took on the same team with no add . (1)Klopp first 10 games was not bad then came the domestic cups qualif tours ,Europa cup games and the premier league championship where he had to play matches every 3-4 days. (2) At this moment he didn’t got enough time for coaching sessions which are very important for a team to improve and progress( they play matches next day light trainings and recuperation the after the 2days have to travel for next games ) (3) The premier league is very different from others league and Klopp knows it but not very much,he had UNDERESTIMATE many things , when the bad had started to produced it was like a bomb who had explose in his hand and he had to adapt with the situation and the reality of the EPL way. (4) With the way Klopp coaching staff trained, was… Read more »

Don’t think it’s a matter of where we finish this season. It is about how we handle our selves from here on in till the end of the season. With the way our squad is you can not expect them to come fourth, win the EL, and the Leauge cup. One of them would be great, if we finish fourth we would struggle next season in the CL, and it would add more pressure to the squad.

The thing is that the squad had a fairly easy time of it under BR, and they’re still getting used to the hi-octane stuff, under KLOPP

The EL is all about luck of the draw. If we get good draws on the way (hopefully) to the final, there’s no reason why we can’t go on to win it. And with the added incentive of a guaranteed CL place for the winners, it is something we should be aiming for.
Yes, winning the LC would qualify us for next seasons EL, but there are still 14/15 games left to play. A decent run (and, yes, I do believe that it could still happen), might not be enough to bag a Top 4 spot, but we shouldn’t give up until the final whistle, on the final day of the season.
