Just a quick word of praise for our U18’s who played away to Everton today and won 4-0, a similar scoreline to when we beat Man Utd at their place earlier in the season. It’s great for the youngsters to have emphatic away wins over our big rivals. It was one of those games when every player performed well and it is hard to pick the outstanding ones only because everyone was so good. Perhaps a special word of praise for Adam Phillips who ran the game from the start and is surely ready to progress to the U21’s next season. Also Liam Coyle, a 16 year old defensive midfielder who is tigerish and composed at the same time and whose reading of the game for a lad so young is amazing – a pocket battleship and surely one to look out for. It’s good to see that Klopp’s pressing philosophy has reached down to the U18’s as they never gave Everton a second’s respite all match, their closing down was top class. Do watch the goals if you have LFCTV especially Herbie Kane’s superb free kick – his namesake Harry could not have bettered it.
