I’m going to keep this short and sweet as frustration with my club is killing me. Fa cup replay next on tuesday night and i reckon we’ll see a fair few changes in the starting 11 or at least i would very much like too. My team against the hammers would be,

ward

flanno  toure  caulker  smith

lucas

Can        brannagan

ibe           studge       teixiera

Not bothered to be honest if we go out of this cup at this stage, obviously if we get a bit further in it then we go all out to win it. Brannagan and tex have played very well lately and deserve some lge game time imo, they certainly wouldn’t be any worse that the so-called first teamers.

I don’t think the team will be very different from the one you picked Warrior. Maybe Coutinho and Origi will come into contention and I guess Benteke is due a game though he was pathetic against the Hammers in the league game so maybe not. I’d like to see Ward start. he can’t do worse than Migs and Boggy.

You just got to stick studge into the team at some point and see what happens, give him the chance to reprove himself. It will really be in his hands to how he reacts.

I don’t know about this one and we’re up against a very good well managed team. I am hoping for a win on our side for once this season since they have done the PL double on us.

Given that this is a must win cup match I’d usually say play the strongest players possible but who exactly are our strongest players at the moment? To go to West Ham with just a young side is asking for trouble, I think they’d get slaughtered on their ground. However, I’m not adverse to some of the young players being mixed in with the older players eg Smith, Teixeira, Brannagan or Kent. I doubt Klopp will bench Mignolet after the vote of confidence he gave him (although he arguably should given his last performance). I’d like to see Flanagan play but I would question whether bringing back Sturridge at West Ham is the wisest move – it’s not a team or ground renowned for its restraint and with the pressure of a one-off cup tie I wouldn’t be surprised if tackles started to fly.

Do we want to progress on in the FA Cup or not? I’d put

Mig

Clyne Lovren Sakho Brad

Lucas Can

Ibe Cou Teixeira

Studge (first 45) then Origi

Mate ,your frustration is normal and I could assure you that many are in the same mental as you. From the Klopp appointment we all LFC FANS and SUPPORTERS were very happy , knowing well those players who are here we were not that enthusiasm and not to expected to be on the top of the league, but a top 6 place was in their possible. Klopp had brought his way of doing and we had saw in some games how excellent we were or could be but when problems started with long term injuries for potential players ,some trusted players not performing well as wanted , strikers not scoring goals as others less good team strikers , poor defense with less quality , a goalkeeper on whom we cant trust, and over the top they need to play matches every 3-4 days. SO with all that meli melo , I lost faith to see kLOPP reach the target, top 4, CL and (may be) not even the top 6 . We are in a cup final against City and whatever the result will be, LFC will go for the 1st round of the Europa cup, if City finish in… Read more »

Just a point of correction – you don’t get a Europa Cup place by being runner up in the League Cup. You used to get one in the FA Cup but that was changed last season. Quite right in my opinion – better teams were missing out.

Branagan won’t be involved due to illness, and neither should Klopp be after his operation. He’ll have stitches in. Can anyone see him just sitting still on the sidelines, potentially in the pouring rain? I can’t. He’ll get himself killed at this rate, or at least burst his stitches. I had an appendicitis in my teens and I couldn’t p*ss properly for a week let alone manage a football team. At least we’ve moved on from giving our managers heart problems, I suppose…

Agreed Red Uncle. Its a conflicting situation for JK. He knows if he’s not there, the boys wont give their all like we saw in Sunderland (I doubt we’d lose the 2 goal lead with JK at the side). And yes, I think its well nigh impossible for JK to just sit on for the whole 90 mins without a tinge of emotion. Is he kidding himself ?! That said, if we start Studge and we get a comfortable 2-0 goal lead by HT, I think JK would be more low key which would be good for him. No I dont think JK should rush his recovery but on the other hand this West Ham replay is key to our FA Cup intent and he has to be at the sides for the boys to play at a higher level

Totally agree but Europa is coming up, long way to travel, I would totally back him if he does not travel with the team….

If fit I’d like to see a front 3 of firmino, lallana & the magician & break up the Hendo, can,Lucas,Milner combo of either 3, just don’t think it’s dangerous enough or got any goals in it, maybe chuck tex in there with either 2 mix it up a bit or put Ibe in there (not that he’s impressed me of late) & have 2 grafters sat behind him Hendo/Can/Lucas/Milner. It’s going to be tough but we need to work our socks off because last time we were there we were just passengers.

Hannum, I like the midfield combo of the 2 Brazilians and slitthery, slippery Lallana. I hope JK tries that in our future games. Very skillful and can break the tightest defense with creative Brazilian football? Although I think the return of Studge, Cou, Divock may be too late for a top 4….

We also have good holding midfielders in any of Hendo, Can, Lucas & Milner. Yes.

Then up front, Benteke/Divock and/or Studge. Twin combo of Divock and Studge could be the next mini SAS ?

Heck I’m just thinking up combinations to beat Augsburg coming up…

Liverpool team: Mignolet, Flanagan, Lucas, Ilori, Smith, Stewart, Chirivella, Teixeira, Ibe, Coutinho, Benteke.

Substitutes: Ward, Enrique, Randall, Henderson, Milner, Sturridge, Origi.
Didn’t see that line up coming???

DB-99

No Sakho, toure? Caulker? Is Caulker cup tied? At least Flanno is there. Coutinho is back. Hopefully Sturridge comes on at some point.

HAMNUM8

Klopps just said caulker said his back tighten up yesterday, the rest he said they’ve only had 4 days to train & he thinks that’s not enough.

Jordan Ibe having a howler yet again.. Almost every decision of his has been extremely poor. Few times now he’s failed to deliver a ball into the box when Benteke has made a great run! Another game where he’s given the ball away too easily.

Benteke is working really hard. credit to him. Sturridge looks a bit rusty but is playing well. Origi is struggling to get past Antonio when he gets a chance but am so annoyed that he’s not helping out in defense at all. Illori, Stewart and Chirivella really playing well against the big guys West Ham have. Flanno playing well too. Great game today and we’re coping with WHU physicality

fa king set piece and poor challenge by Lucas which was totally uselless.
what ever. clear penalty not given against us.
but again so many chances we didn’t converted.

I can’t moan at the performance one bit, Lucas was quality playing out of position but such a stupid free kick to give away something he’s been guilty of before. Can’t believe it, that’s hard to take. Well done the youngsters & on a plus Sturridge back but really really gutted.

Koped49

Well so the story continues, dominate areas of play, then we miss or waste the opportunities we make, but on a positive note we played well and crated the chances, so sooner or latter we will start taking them.

RedUncle

Hard to know how to feel after that game. The team as a whole played well, Lucas was doing well until the last minute, the kids did well, Sturridge looks encouraging. Yet so many chances missed. I reckon you could give Benteke the ball, tell him he can throw the ball into the net unimpeded and he’d still miss.

DB-99

Benteke played well but finishing cost us today, yet again. Defending poor yet again even though they scored good goals, the second one was a free header but we were let off in some cases. More than ever I feel saddened that we are pretty much shaping up like a midtable team and rely on few players to perform. Klopp has his job cut out.

Devastated after that last minute downer. I think this is the first time that JK put in ALL 3 STRIKERS in one game trying to finish it under 90 mins. That’s Origi, Sturridge, Benteke all playing upfront! I’ll remember this! Looking back at the match, I am really angry with Lucas who was also the captain giving that free kick away. As I’ve said before, he has this nasty losing habit of giving needless free kicks away and if he ain’t going to change he can move on. I mean he captained the team very well but he played a big role in us losing. Too big. Benteke..is he a striker or what? We can see from the several games, he consistently misses his one on ones, not being able to put away things. Brad was excellent at left back and finally I now have my Moreno replacement. Moreno out! From the subs JK made, Millie and Divock were invisible after they came on. What was JK thinking substituting the Cou? Match changer I would say. Just put Studge on and DON’T TAKE OUT the Cou! What’s he thinking playing 3 strikers? Otherwise all the lads played well and the… Read more »

Now it’s the morning after I’m feeling a bit more philosophical about the result. If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from this cup run it’s that we’ve got greater squad depth than perhaps we appreciated. I don’t think any of the kids looked out of their depth and I honestly wouldn’t panic if any of their names appeared on a Premier League team sheet. Also, although giving away a free kick at the very end was disappointing I didn’t realise Lucas would play so well as a centreback and he is a realistic replacement in the position if needs be. Yes, our squad is clearly deficient in certain areas but perhaps it has qualities we may have overlooked.

Hi, frankly said after watching the youngsters and some 1st team players involved the lost was not best for a result but it was not a surprise also . Knowing much more this WH team and on their ground, a tough game was predicted now at least JK could have enough time to concentrate in the EPL much more. Watching the starting players line up I couldn’t understand why Lucas was in the CD with Liori while he got Caulker on the bench ?, why BigBen to start and knowing well he is not in his best form at the moment and have Sturidge on the bench ? and after an hour put him on in place of the goal scorer, Couti ? etc. There are decision which klopp had taken and made which could made me think that he wasn’t so serious in winning this game. Now we are 1 out of 4competitions , and already reach 1 final to play on 28feb, it will remain only the Europa Cup and EPL ,so I would said this lost is not so bad for team and the manager. IMO, now for the rest of this season am optimistic and would… Read more »

Actually I think the EPL or top 4 is out of he equation leaving CapitalOne and Europa. I’d be very surprised if we go far in the Europa which I would like to see very much. But winning the Europa to book a place in the CL ? Hmmmm……

lanoisseforp

Going out of the cup felt ******. Lucas had a great game last night despite that freak incident foul led to a free kick and they scored the winner which i felt it would have happen. The positive side to this short run of games we had in this competition and I seriously think the kids are ready for PL action. It’s time to give them experience and preparation for the next season and we do have a few gems in the deck.

Also a good chance to give many of them game time to see who can seriously make the grade, who needs more time, and who would best be served going elsewhere
